BOOKS Plus Cardiff opened in June 1999. It is situated in the Main Entrance and Concourse of the University Hospital of Wales.
The shop is open Monday – Friday from 9am to 5:30pm and Saturday from 10.30am to 4:30pm.
BOOKS Plus Cardiff is a distinctive Christian Bookshop. The shop is rooted in the community of the hospital and was set up with the support of local churches. It was the inspiration of staff members of the Hospital Christian Fellowship and opened in 1999. Christian books and related Christian material are presented alongside goods of general interest in an easy environment for people of all backgrounds to browse and enjoy.
Our approach is to let the literature speak for itself. Since opening BOOKS Plus has provided a gentle but sure witness to our faith in Jesus. We aim to sell books and items that are interesting, creative, and stimulating at a real value price. We stock books on natural history, gardening, cooking and history as well as Bibles, study aids, biography, life experience stories and many other topics. The hard issues of life arising from being in hospital can sometimes cause people to question the core of what they believe, and while we don’t claim to have all the answers, we feel sure that some of them can be found among the books available at BOOKS Plus.
In an increasingly secular and multicultural society, BOOKS Plus has been able to sensitively and caringly address the breadth of people’s search for the truth.
